The Simply Calphalon Nonstick Anodized line of cookware is an excellent alternative for those who prefer cooking on a nonstick surface and who desire Calphalon quality at a budget price. This 8-quart stockpot boils a few pounds of pasta, simmers enough soup to feed a crowd, or cooks up large quantities of marinara sauce. Made of durable hard-anodized aluminum of uniform thickness, the pan is an excellent heat conductor and cooks food quickly and evenly. Its double-coated nonstick interior prevents food from sticking and makes cleanup easier. The pan has oval stainless-steel handles with a blasted satin finish that are comfortable to grip and are held in place by sturdy stainless-steel rivets. Also made of brushed stainless steel, the lid is domed to keep moisture in during cooking. This cookware is oven-safe up to 375 degrees F so you don?t have to dirty several pans to make one dish. This product was not of the quality that I have come to expect from Calphalon. I have a full line of their products and have been extremely pleased up to now. This pot was estremely light-weight (can you say flimsy?) and, while the packaging showed no outward appearance of being damaged during shipping, was more oval in shape than round. Obviously, the strainer insert that I ordered with it did not come close to fitting.
On the plus side, Amazon made the process of returning both products quite painless and I was able to re-order a much better item in it's place.

Our family makes a lot of soup and Chili! This is a great size for a family of 3 or 4. So far the quality of the Simply Calphalon has been what we expect from this brand as most of our pots are Calphalon.

This is my second Calphalon product in two weeks. I compared the Commercial version with this Simply Calphalon. It seems like this one has 10 years of warranty while the Commercial brand has lifelong warranty (my life or the product's life ;)).
I had great experience with the first pot which was 4 qt, so I decided to get a bigger on this time for that twice a month cooking. The depth and the diameter of this pot is just perfect with the same uniform heating.
- handle gets warmer as compared to the big handle of 4 qt pot. But if you are cooking in this pot for 30 min or so, then you could use bare hand also otherwise you might need paper towel or other stuff to pick this up.
- If you keep the cover on longer for a period of time, it's handle will get hot.
- super easy to clean. just couple of wipes. On the first day of getting this pot, I cooked thrice in this pot and it was just amazing.
- I found the heat to be more uniform as compared to other brands.
- you cannot put this in the dishwasher because that will void the warranty.
I liked my first pot so much that I got this one, now I have to try the commercial line to compare that one too.
But I guess if this pot lasts for 10 years I'll be more than happy. Plus, with less usage, this should last much longer.
A great buy, although you might get it cheaper if you look longer since the price keeps changing on amazon quite frequently.
