terrific all purpose pan February 27, 2008 I recieved this pan directly from Calphalon as a warranty replacement for my 3 quart commercial nonstick saute pan. I absolutely love it! I had to send my other pan back because after 3 years of use and proper care, the nonstick coating started to come off. I have had this pan for about a year now, and it has actually outperformed my old pan! I use it almost everyday. The size is perfect for our family of 4! And the coating is very slick! No troubles cleaning it up. You will love this pan!
The Best August 29, 2007 I have this and the 5-quart. They are my favorite pans. Take good care of them and they will last a very long time. Worth every penny.
non-stick bliss June 8, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great saute pan. I was a little concerned after reading a couple of luke-warm reviews but I am pleased to report that I have been delighted. My wife and I both love to cook and this pan has been put through its paces, meat, fish, veggies etc. all have been tried and the non-stick treatment has been great. Easy to clean, deep, great size; expensive but worth it!!
Great Nonstick Saute Pan March 20, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This pan does the job it is advertised to do. It heats evenly, the handle stays cool to the touch, food releases easily and clean up is a breeze. I use this pan frequently and it is a great addition to my kitchen cookware. Although I have no problem handling the pan, it might be a bit heavy for smaller individuals.
Excellent pan for every day use. December 28, 2004 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have to say that having NEVER used this kind of cookware (i.e. anodized aluminum) before, my first experience making my old favorite pan-fried chicken breast was very positive.
I have read several very negative reviews saying that these pans stick too much. However, I was under the impression that this is NOT a non-stick pan (they do have a separate non-stick version of it) so I was not expecting a completely non-stick experience.
It did stick a little bit (not as much as some of the reviewers have claimed) but the deglazing process was a breeze (even with a PLASTIC spatula!) and my husband said the cleanup was very easy. If you are a better-than-average cook and want to take a step up to a professional pan, definitely buy this one.
My pan also came with a DVD with a very good instructional video on how to sear, saute, and pan-fry, which I had not yet watched before I made my chicken. Next time I will change my method slightly to improve my technique.
This pan replaced a previously-owned 5-quart Calphalon non-stick saute pan which I used almost daily for several years and was way beyond the end of it's life (hey at this price you want to squeeze every ounce of usefulness you can out of it). I wish I'd replaced it sooner. This pan is a dream.
