Amazon.com Review From winter's hearty soups to summer's porch-dining paellas, this Simply Calphalon 4-quart covered chef's casserole performs with reliability and simple elegance. Crafted of hard-anodized aluminum for excellent heat conductivity as well as long-lasting durability, the interior surface offers a double nonstick coating for easy cooking and cleanup. The generous shape also has plenty of surface area to spread out meat or vegetables, and the rounded sides allow utensils to slide right in. Riveted stainless-steel side handles stay cool on the stovetop and are ergonomically contoured. To seal in moisture, nutrients, and flavor, the stainless-steel lid has a slightly domed shape and a snug fit. This casserole is oven-safe to 450 degrees F and comes with a 10-year warranty. Wash by hand; wood and nylon utensils only. --Kara Karll

my new favorite pot June 29, 2008 This IS my new favorite pot!! The one that never really makes it back into the cupbord. perfectly sized, great even heat conduction, easy clean up. I will probably buy another one!!
Perfectly sized April 20, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This pan is perfectly sized for me. The Calphalon One Non-stick 10-inch everyday pan is great- but a little shallow. This pan is the same diameter but is deeper. On the downside, it is not nearly as well constructed as its cousin in the Calphalon One line. But it works for me.... BTW- this pan is offered as a premium with a minimum purchase from the Calphalon line.
I am so pleased... January 16, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful

One of my favorite cooking vessels! December 20, 2007 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I received this 4-quart casserole as a freebie when I bought a few other pieces and I have to say, it's one of my most-used and most-loved cooking vessels.
It fits that in-between size that's bigger than your standard pot but smaller than your dutch oven. I use it for making soups and stews, popping popcorn (1/2 cup of corn to about 3-4 tbsp of oil is PERFECT in this pot), making boxed pasta like Pasta Roni and that kind of thing. I like that it has the short handles that make it fit a crowded stove and the fact that it can go into the oven to finish off is great!
The non-stick surface is wonderful and super easy to clean up. And it's pretty sturdy too. It doesn't seem like it's too easy to scratch. I've had mine for over a year and have used metal utensils at times and never have had a problem. The base is plenty heavy for even searing on small roasts and stew meat. The lid fits fine and the curve of it is great because it forces the liquid back into the pot and also promotes an almost convective heat turn over.
I really do love this vessel and would highly recommend it for everyday use. It can handle it!
