 Attractive but impractical, and I wonder about lead November 1, 2008
I've had these dishes for a little over a year now, and although they arrived in good condition, thanks to the excessive packaging, I can understand why it was necessary because they chip very easily. Very few of ours are intact today. Other drawbacks are the large size, of the dinner plates especially. They take up lots of cupboard space and don't fit well in our dishwasher. They also hold heat so well that using them in the microwave is dangerous. I've been burned even using a potholder.
My final concern is one that I'm not sure of but if true might be the most serious. I see that another reviewer questions where they were made. Although the Amazon product description doesn't say, Made in China is clearly stamped on the bottom of each piece. Recent recalls of dishware and other Chinese made products for lead content prompted me to look for that information, and I see that although other Pinzon patterns specifically say lead-free, this one does not. It might be just an oversight, but I would find out before deciding to purchase this product.

I want to thank the previous review for questioning items made in China.
My child had a seizure due to GHB in aquaballs and we've had just about every item included in the Mattel recall's b/c of lead.
I'm shopping for new dinnerware, because our current was made in China. I don't trust any thing made there and refuse to have anything manufactured in China in my home.
Please encourage all people listing items to sell to include where the item was made....saying "imported" just doesn't get it anymore.

The color doesn't look like the picture, the real color is much darker, but still super value...

These dishes are really nice. They are very big, which I love. I got them for a fantastic price, and I'm extremely happy with them.

I have several place settings in all the colors available. You could not ask for better quality at the price. I love the weight of the pieces. I especially like the small plates as they are perfect for "light" meals and snacking. What a value!
