3 out of 5 stars Thick and Cozy, for people with thin arms   February 8, 2008

As expected, I can get out of the hot tub, put on the robe without toweling off, and walk around in it comfortably. It's absorbent and doesn't feel wet. However, putting it on is a little more challenging than it would be with a robe with bigger sleeve holes. Also, a larger guest that used one complained about it being too tight in the arms. Overall, I'm satisfied, since the price was less than other bamboo robes.

3 out of 5 stars incorrectly sized   January 8, 2008

I purchased a large robe. The sizing table gives the following measurements for medium and large for Robe Length, Arm to Pit Length, Sweep Circumference, Sleeve Length, Cuff Length, Belt Length:
Medium 49 16-1/8 50 31 14 70
Large 49-3/4 17-3/8 53-1/2 31-3/4 14-1/2 73-1/2

Even though the tag said large, the robe they sent the belt length is 70 inches, cuff seems to be 14, and sleeve length is 31 and arm to pit is about 16-1/8, clearly a medium.

That said, the robe was very soft and seemed well made. Just be careful of the sizing and check it out when it arrives. Other reviewers have said it was sized small, and it may be that they were just incorrectly labeled.

5 out of 5 stars SOFTEST FIBER   December 28, 2007
Very, very soft; beautiful lt.olive green; I am petite size 10-12 and ordered a Med. & the sleeves are too long, but I wanted a bamboo fiber for it's properties and I was not disappointed. Has a silky sheen to it too.

3 out of 5 stars Looks and feels nice, but unraveling...   December 27, 2007

I looked at a number of robes, and chose this one, for the color and trim, plus the fairly heavy weight. It's a rich warm brown. And the wicking ability is GREAT - I bought it mostly to use post-hot-tub, and by the time I get upstairs, I'm virtually dry (without toweling off before putting the robe on), and there's no water on the inside of the robe making me feel cold and wet (my problem with the microfleece robe). I guess it gets trapped somewhere inside, but it also dries out well overnight. The extra-large seems to be roomy, for a person that wears men's XL sweatpants. It's pretty long too - I'd guess 52", but I didn't measure it.

The small items of concern about this are that the sleeves are straight, and the cuffs are thick, so it's very difficult to roll up the sleeves, although I'm able to push them up, with some effort. The pockets are also located on the side seam, as opposed to more towards the front. These are just things to be aware of.

My main problem with it (and I would've returned it if I could've gotten a full refund) is that there are multiple places on it where the loop of the cloth is becoming unattached to the "backing" (it's looped inside and out, so it's really "middle-ing", I guess). If you look at it in detail, you'll see that there are bald spots where the thread's separated. So, even if you trim the threads, there'll be a small bald spot. I noticed these after about 20 days of wearing it for maybe 20 minutes a day (probably more like 15); they could've been there earlier and I just wasn't looking. Bamboooutfitters dot com has a heavier robe, but it's only available in a natural color, and in one size - it may be worth looking at that one, but I don't have any other information about it.

If I had it to do over again, I would not have bought this robe. It's just too much money to be self-destructing a month after buying it.

2 out of 5 stars Doesn't fit   December 27, 2007

I purchased this as a Christmas gift and it does not fit. The arms are very small for what should be a loose fitting bathrobe. The quality is good, but the sizing for a large was tight for the uppper body.
