I've ordered 2, one as a gift. It looks great, although be aware that the wood color/shade will vary. One had lighter looking wood than in the picture above--more ordinary. The cracker fits very securely inside. I haven't used mine but plan to keep it full of small nuts like pistachos and may not use the cracker. I should think other smaller nuts like hazelnuts would fit best but don't know how they'd crack or wear on the cracker. It's still a useful gift.

AFTER ONLY 10-12 ALMONDS THE HANDLES BEGAN TO DEFORM AND ONE COULD NOT USE THE NUTCRACKER ANYMORE. I RETURNED IT TO AMAZON AND ALTHOUGH IT MAY WORK WELL WITH OTHER NUTS, I DECIDED AGAINST GETTING A REPLACEMENT.

The bowl is really too small to be serviceable. When its full of nuts, the nutcracker won't lay in its place. It's pretty though!

It's powerful, much better than the old one we got from Wal-mart. We should have bought this earlier.
