Goodbye Wok August 22, 2008 I have a Calphalon Wok and never seemed to have enough room for all the veggie's and meat. This one works great the deep sides work just as good as a wok and you have more flat area to saute in. The lid is very tough it comes in handy for steaming and holding heat to a dish prior to serving. DON'T wash it in your dishwasher you will ruin the surface.
gift August 14, 2008 I gave this as a gift. The new owner is very pleased with the skillet.
great size and shape multipurpose pan June 8, 2008 I have used this pan many times for about 1 year (at least 2-3 times weekly); overall I have been quite happy with it. Its size and shape make it quite versatile; I use it to make all sorts of pasta sauces, braised chicken, and stir-fried meats and vegetables. The only problem that I have encountered is that after a year or so of use, the nonstick finish is no longer nonstick; likely because I have used it for stir-fried meats. There is a rough, dark coating which I cannot remove with the recommended cleaning; this debris flakes off while cooking and leaves a bit of black flecks on food. I was hoping this pan would last a bit longer but I need to replace it; I am looking for a regular finish pan of the same size and shape that I can scrub clean after stir-frying.
Love this pan April 15, 2008 The size of this pan is perfect for a family of 4. It's non stick surface works great so far. This is a heavy pan so be ready to use some muscle.
I enjoy using this nonstick chef's skillet April 13, 2008 This is my second Calphalon nonstick skillet. I have an older omelet skillet w/o the lid, but I rarely use it because it is not deep enough for items such as fish and stir-fry stuff. I don't want a stir-fry wok. I purchased this chef's skillet mainly because of its size, weight, nonstick surface, and lid. My fish turns out great using this skillet! The skillet is just right for me; I don't need to cook a lot since I am a bachelor for life.
Of course, the skillet is very easy to clean. This should be my last skillet - I've got another set of skillets from Calphalon stainless steel. I think the price for chef's skillet is a bit too high (compare this to the nonstick 13" deep skillet), but I am glad I made the purchase. Got from Macy's on sale and free shipping!
