Product Description There almost seems to be a sensuous fascination with cooking. Makes sense, actually. It's about creation and giving birth to a provocative, tasty dish that excites and enlightens the senses - taste, fragrance, and visual. Calphalon realizes that. As a leading manufacturer of professional cookware, they know that cookware requires excellence and precision to create dishes that are consistent and delicious for an admiring public. The Contemporary Non-Stick Cookware collection has been designed for you, the serious, creative chef at home - preparing artistic cuisine for the few or the one. This set starts you off with grace and style. They are the precise tools to help you explore, evoke, and excite. Hey, isn't that what creativity and good food are about?
Amazon.com Review The high-quality Contemporary Nonstick line of cookware is designed to meet the needs of busy families while offering the high-quality construction associated with the Calphalon brand. These pots and pans offers a stylish, attractive look while making cooking and cleanup for family meals or special occasions easy and low-stress. Contemporary Nonstick cookware replaces Calphalon?s original and highly popular Professional Nonstick II line--but with improvements to make it even better. The most obvious enhancement is in the versatile rounded and flared design of the pots and pans. This design makes a single pan suitable for various cooking techniques and provides better access for pouring and stirring. Also convenient is the capacity line on these pots and pans, which helps prevent cooks from overfilling them. This set has all the pieces necessary for daily family cooking: 8-inch and 10-inch omelet pans, 1-1/2- and 2-1/2-quart covered saucepans, a 3-quart covered saute pan, and an 8-quart covered stockpot. The pans? exteriors are made of hard-anodized aluminum for superior heat distribution. The interiors are coated with a nonstick surface that is resistant to peeling, chipping, flaking, or cracking. This cookware has ergonomic brushed stainless-steel handles that stay cool to the touch on the stovetop and are riveted to the pans for durability. The lids are tempered glass--for viewing food as it cooks--encircled by a stainless-steel band that complements the cookware and fits snugly into the pans. All Contemporary Nonstick cookware is oven-safe up to 450 degrees F and is covered by a lifetime warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde What's in the Box 8-inch and 10-inch omelet pans, 1-1/2- and 2-1/2-quart covered saucepans, 3-quart covered saute pan, 8-quart covered stockpot

They don't last! August 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this set when my husband and I were married four years ago. I love to cook and bake, and thought these pans were great in the beginning. Four years and $400 later, I am very disappointed. The nonstick coating in every pan is peeling off. Let me be clear: These pans have NEVER seen the dishwasher, metal utensils, or anything but loving care. We thought we were investing in pans we'd have for a long time. Not so. Now, we wish we would've just gotten the stainless All-Clad instead. These were cheaper in the beginning, but they're costing us in the long run. If you're registering for your wedding gifts, DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID. Use caution when purchasing any nonstick pans; they'll all fail over time, and you'll just have to keep buying new pans when the coating peels. Learn from my mistake and save yourself the trouble. Skip these pans!
Really nice to cook with May 4, 2008 Food cooks better, more evenly than the cheap Tfal I had. No sticking problems. Would like a smaller pan in the set. Easy to clean the interior with the Dobie pad. More trouble to keep the exterior clean. The large sauce pan came with a scratch on the rim and I am considering exchanging it. Love the clear glass tops. Handles do get hot. Pots are heavy and have aggravated my tennis elbow.
Non-stop WOWs from all the guests! Just that alone is enough April 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this set for my mom. She shows it to all her guests, it has been non-stop WOWs. Just that alone is well worth it, not to mention it cooks wonderfully.
*Even heating - This is the 1st thing you'll notice when you upgrade to a high quality pot from a $10 pot.
*Faster heating *Long lasting non-stick, even for abusive users *Handles stays cool *Can take the 450 degree oven *Warranty actually works, take it to any store that sells Calphalon and they'll replace it.
If you enjoy cooking and can afford a little luxury, this is definitely recommended. Remember to buy another cheap item so you get the 12" wok free, that wok is another awesome product.
Loved it at first, but now HATE it!!! February 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When replacing my cookware several years ago I decided to spend the extra money for this brand/style because of it's excellent reputation as being durable. Initially I LOVED the cookware. Lids fit well, heated evenly, nothing stuck to the surface. After about a year, despite following all care instructions, the non-stick surfaces stopped working. Thinking I just got a defective set, I sent it back to Caphlon. No problem with the return, they replaced the pieces without hesitation. Almost a year later that set too had the same sticking issues. The skillet I have sent back several times.
I'm tired of paying shipping and dealing with the hassle of replacement. I'm not alone in my complaints. A neighbor has the same cookware and the same issues. We are both in search of new cookware. I'm not sure what it's going to be yet, but it will definitley not be Caphalon!
Caphalon will stand by you September 29, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I purchased a 12 piece set of Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick Cookware for my wife's birthday. This is the second set that I have purchased for her. A few years back we bought the Calphalon Commercial Nonstick set and added pieces over the years. We recently decided that we needed to send back several pieces due to the nonstick surface starting to come off. We however could not send them off to be replaced (per the lifetime warranty)because we did not have any other cookware to use.
So...once we had the new set we used the box they came in to pack up the Calphalon Commercial Nonstick pieces that needed to be returned, enclosed a letter stating what the problem was, spent $20 to ship and insure, and less than two weeks later had new pieces to replace the old ones. Since they no longer make the Calphalon Commercial Nonstick pieces they were replaced with the Calphalon One Nonstick pieces. No hassle whatsoever!
We now have every type of pot and pan you could imagine and it is a mixture of Calphalon Commercial Nonstick, Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick and Calphalon One Nonstick. My wife loves it all! To show off her collection we purchased a pot/pan rack that attaches to the wall. With all of the pots and pans hanging my wife has taken such good care of them you cannot tell which ones are the oldest.
We both would highly recommend any product from Calphalon that has the Lifetime Warranty. When we initially purchased our first set of Calphalon we were like everyone else...just not sure about spending that much money on a set of pots and pans. We however was in a never ending cycle of spending $100+ every year or so to replace our pots and pans. Nothing held up. We now know that even if there is some type of defect that causes a problem with a Calphalon product they will definitely stand by their name. My wife did not believe this until her replacement pots/pans arrived.
