This is, simply put, the greatest little cutting board I have ever used. It is lightweight, hygienic, easy on the pocketbook and looks good in the kitchen. Amazingly gentle on any delicate or super-sharp knives you might own. (I recently graduated from the much ballyhooed and overrated German-made Henckels line to the radically sharp Japanese-made Global line, but that is another review. This board does them justice.) The secret is in the materials and construction of the board -- an amalgamation of paper-like fiber layers bonded firmly together.
The smaller size of this board is just about perfect. I rest it behind my knife block, so it is always ready to grab for a quick cutting. You'll never again make an ill-advised slice against your hard stone or tile countertop due to laziness over making a trip to the cabinet where your larger board rests idly. (Hey, we all have done it. :)
This cute little board also manages to be much larger than it appears -- a virtual David against the Goliaths of your kitchen. Trust me, size does matter, and in this case, the little guy (gal?) wins every round in my kitchen. I suspect the same will be true for you.
