4 out of 5 stars Good Flatware Set for a Family   September 15, 2008

If you want a heavy weight flatware set then look somewhere else. This is a medium weight set that is perfect for a family with 16 spoons, forks, etc. so that you don't run out of them. And it looks very good too.

4 out of 5 stars Pleasantly surprised   August 15, 2008

I was hesitant to purchase these because of the reviews, but I am happy that I did get them. They were at a Lightning Deal price of $59.99. When I opened the package the first thing I tried was to attempt to bend a fork. I put enough pressure on the metal but it did not even make a dent. I am very pleased with this set and it is perfect for a large family that has children who like to abuse flatware. They are strong and durable. However, I did think the flatware caddy was a little on the cheaply made side - you can buy one like that at a dollar store. Hope this helped.

3 out of 5 stars Not worth it   August 13, 2008

These are only 18/0 stainless steel...they are not that strong and bend easily. They also have scratched easily also. I don't think these are worth $110. For under $50, I think these are okay.

After some research, I have discovered that buying 18/10 stainless steel is much better. Once these are out of commission, I am going to invest in high quality 18/10 stainless steel pieces.

4 out of 5 stars Nice set   July 25, 2008

I bought this set when it was super cheap on a Friday Sale due to frustration with my sister's choice of plastic and pot metal from Wal-mart, so my standards were pretty low. However, I find myself pleasantly surprised. The "caddy" is a cheap balsa wood sorter which I've already relegated to paintbrushes, and the metal on these is not as heavy as I was expecting from previous Oneida sets. However, they are quite strong and maintain their shiny finish very nicely even in less than ideal conditions, they look nice and go with everything, and I have yet to bend a serving spoon trying to scoop out ice cream. The serving pieces are nicely decorative as well. They're not for best, but if you have a problem with losing forks or are looking to entertain a lot of people, it's certainly worth the investment. Overall, I'm very pleased.
