I just purchased the Satin Garnet flatware set. I'm very pleased with my purchase. I shopped around ALOT before making my final decision. The set is everything I hoped for. They are heavy- but not too heavy. They have high shine and a beautiful "brushed" finished on the handles. Everytime I pull out a piece to use, I smile. Amazon also had the best price, (especially the free shipping). I would have paid about $60 more at the Dept. stores.
 Poor workmanship - not recommended May 4, 2008
We started using this set in January 2008. Upon openning the box, at least ten pieces had pitting or defective surface. The box said the flatware was disherwasher safe, but within two washes some pieces started getting marks and rust. Has only gotten worse. Pattern is nice and wooden caddy is handy, but this flatware has underperformed and disappointed compared to my old $40 entry-level Oneida set which lasted for over six years without any marks.
Just what I was hoping for February 8, 2008
I was so pleased when I received my new Oneida flatware. This price is amazing! The flatware is substantial--each piece is beautiful and weighty. You feel you're using really fine quality flatware. The only drawback I've found is that the pieces do not nest in the draw as well as thinner, lesser quality flatware. However, this is a small price to pay. Just leave yourself enough room in your flatware drawer to store them. I am so glad I purchased this set and will feel proud to use it daily and for company.
Beautiful Flatware January 18, 2008
After reading other's reviews of this set of flatware and shopping around, I ultimately decided to purchase this set for my wife for Christmas. I was not disappointed. Other reviewers complained of the flatware being improperly balanced and too heavy, but for us, they are just perfect!! As soon as she opened them, she loved them. They are very classic looking with the shiny smooth metal contrasting perfectly with the brushed, duller areas, and even now, they continue to shine in our drawer. I love using them and don't find them heavy at all. In fact, after washing them, we served a huge Christmas dinner with them, and everyone commented on how nice they were, and when I asked what they thought of the weight, not even one person replied that they were heavy. They all thought they felt "sturdy" and high quality because of the weight that they did have. We've used them exclusively since then, and have had absolutely no problems with rust or spotting from our Dishwasher.
I'd highly recommend this set to anyone looking for a classic, quality set of flatware.
beautiful flatware November 25, 2007
I was so impressed with this flatware set. They have a heavy solid feel to them and they are beautiful. I was going to get the same set at Macy's for $275, but found them on amazon for $99!! It was an amazing deal. I've had mismatched silverware for years and I just got married and we finally have a beautiful matched set. I am very happy with them.
