5 out of 5 stars Excellent cookie sheet!!   May 30, 2008
You can pretty much bake anything on it and it will not stick and the results are wonderful! Definitely recommend it to all bakers!

4 out of 5 stars Recommended for frequent cookie bakers!   May 19, 2008
Works well! I hate washing cookie sheets (my favorite doesn't fit in the dishwasher), and I feel guilty using yards of parchment paper. These and similar baking mats are kind of pricey, so I bought two when I saw them on sale.

Benefits beyond providing a non-stick surface:

- I have two of these mats, but only one good cookie sheet. I put one batch of cookies in to bake, and prepared my next batch on the second baking mat. Previously, I'd have taken out the first batch, then let the sheet cool thoroughly so it didn't melt chilled dough of my first cookies while I rolled the rest in sugar. Having two mats sped things up.

- Kept cookie bottoms from getting as dark as they normally do.

- For cookies that bake too soft to spatula off the cookie sheet without crumpling, I was able to slip the mat w/ cookies onto the counter or cooling rack, so cookies stay in perfect form but don't get over-done sitting on a hot cookie sheet.

1 out of 5 stars Absolute JUNK - There's a Reason It's on 4 for 3 Promo   May 15, 2008

I have one of the Silpat's which is more expensive and love it for baking. It saves messy cleanups and is more environmentally friendly than continually using parchment paper. When I saw the Matfer product was made by Silpat and was significantly less expensive, factoring in the 4 for 3 promotion, I bought two. The first two that came were absolutely filthy, having grease marks all over the edges. In addition, the white edging was peeling/flaking off both mats. Amazon's return service was a dream and I reordered replacements for the two defective mats. Well, guess what - the replacements' edges were also peeling/flaking off. I've returned these to Amazon and once I get my refund will purchase the more expensive Silpat product. Don't waste your money on these less expensive items.

5 out of 5 stars Made some great not burned cookies!   March 30, 2008

Works as advertised and less mess and ease of use and never a burned bottom. They certainly could burn though if in long enough so pay attn to your temps and timimg and you will get great cookies each time with these easy to use and clean mats.

I did not notice any funny tastes, the cookies baked well, looked good and I had to make a couple trays to determine my timing on each type of cookie I was making. All ovens are different, types of cookies, volume of dough/size of cookie etc all make a difference whether with these mats or with metal baking sheets. So nice to not have to spray them and make a bigger mess!

Once you buy one you'll want at least one more. These are great for cookies or just anything you don't want sticking in the oven.
