1 out of 5 stars Replacement Lids Not Available   September 4, 2007

There's nothing really wrong with the pan, but if you think there's even the slightest chance that you will drop and break the glass lid, do not buy this pan. I broke my lid, and when I contacted KitchenAid to obtain a new lid, they told me they do not sell the lids separately. Any manufacturer who sells a product with a part that is easily breakable and does not sell replacement parts is clearly trying to squeeze extra money out of the consumer - surely they have the crazy idea I'm going to buy another complete pan and lid set from them!

Fortunately, my husband found another brand of glass lid that fits just fine. But it was a hassle. That was a year ago; perhaps KitchenAid has decided to sell replacement lids now. You should look into that before you spend your hard-earned money on this skillet.

5 out of 5 stars Stir Fry Pan   September 3, 2007
We shopped around for smaller stir fry pans and were happy to find this one wiith a cover on it. Handle is comfortable and protects you from heated wok. We use this wok often as it it just the right size for a family of 3 or 4. Cleans up easily. Seller mailed the stir fry pan out promptly after payment.

5 out of 5 stars Good addition to set   June 29, 2007

I bought the 10 piece set and added this piece to it. Worth the extra money to get this pan with a fitting lid. I was considering the 12 in uncovered skillet, but I am really happy with my choice.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent cookware   May 16, 2007

I got the stir fry pan to complete a set of gourmet essentials cookware. The pans are a joy to use. Heat distribution is even. I use lower heat than with my previous cookware. The silicone grips make them easy to handle. Working with these pans makes everyday cooking seem elegant. I wash this type of pan by hand, but cleanup never involves more than a wipe with a soapy sponge and rinse.

5 out of 5 stars Better than the Anolon 12-inch stir fry pan   November 28, 2006

My wife and I were shopping for a stir fry pan to complement our cookware and we were deciding between this pan and the Anolon Classic 12-Inch Nonstick Stir Fry with Lid (Amazon ASIN B00004S8DT, currently for $34.99).

We first ordered the Anolon pan because of its lower price ($34.99) and positive reviews. The pan however arrived with a few scratches. In addition, the pan seemed to be thinner and lighter than our other same sized cookware. We returned this pan immediately and ordered this KitchenAid pan.

The KitchenAid pan arrived in perfect shape. It is obviously thicker than the Anolon one, and its handle feels more balanced. We personally feel it much worth the extra 15 dollars.

As a postscript, the box for the Anolon pan we received appeared to be opened before. And it appeared to be out of stock on Amazon for a few days right after we've ordered ours. So the one we received could be one of the last remaining ones which in turn may be returned by others. This might explain the bad packaging and the scrathes. Anyway the KitchenAid pan still beats it in terms of material solidity and balance.
