egg-cellent pan March 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Love this pan. I use a little olive oil spray on these and get perfect nonstick eggs every time and very easy to clean. Very well made pan still looks like new after many uses. Could use pan without the inserts too so the use is not limited to eggs. Love it!
Egg Poacher February 27, 2008 Excellent quality! This will be around for a long time. Arrived fast and in excellent shape.
poached eggs February 26, 2008 After figuring out approximately how long was needed to cook our eggs properly, we thoroughly enjoyed using the egg poacher. The only thing that bums me out is the water that condenses on the lid and drips into the egg cups so we end up with watery eggs. Other than that, it's easy to use and makes a great egg!
worth the price February 15, 2008 Our new Calphalon hard anodized nonstick egg poacher is an excellent buy. It's a little pricier than most, but considering the pan can be used separately for sauteeing, etc. it's worth the price. The only awkward feature is that the handles of the egg cups are too small to grab with a pot holder after the eggs are cooked. The handles are too hot to handle otherwise and it takes some dexterity to empty the cups. The eggs slide out easily after you manage to grab the handles, though.
Design flaws February 10, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This egg poacher was disappointing for two reason: i) because of the location of the steam holes, it's impossible to deposit the egg into the cup without getting a steam burn; and ii) the "handles" for the egg cups are so short that they cannot be grasped by the hand if you're using a potholder (which you need). As a result, I need to keep a pair of needle-nose pliers on hand for taking out the cups. I used a cheap poacher for years and never had any of these problems.
