5 out of 5 stars Excellent Set of Pots and Pans!   February 24, 2006

I am very pleased with my purchase. The pans arrived quickly, and inside of another box for security and protection. The pans have the anondized surface, which makes them more resistant to scratches and wear. It's a sharp looking set of pans - very sleek with a contemporary look. They all have a rubberized grip on the handles so picking them up is easy, and the heat doesn't transfer to your hands. The lids are glass so you can easily monitor your food while it cooks. These pots and pans are NOT allowed in the dishwasher, however, because it will diminish their quality (which is common for good pans). So if you're the lazy type who doesn't like to hand-wash you may want to buy a different type of pan. Otherwise - I highly recommend these to anyone looking for a good set that will last years.

5 out of 5 stars Great set!   January 6, 2006

I did quite a bit of research, trying to find a good but "reasonably" priced cookware set. When I read the reviews for this KitchenAid set, I thought I would give them a try. I LOVE THEM!!! I used them to cook Christmas dinner and couldn't have been more pleased with my purchase! Clean up is an absolute breeze!!!! It truly is non-stick without using oils or butter. The only downside is that food does get stuck in the rivets, which is the only time you have to use a little elbow grease to clean these pans.

Overall, I'm 100% happy with the price, the look, the weight and the performance of this set. I love the stay cool handles. I quickly tossed my old set (which had become far from non-stick) and am cooking up a storm. I have to admit, on my old set, I always used non-stick spray. When I read the KitchenAid directions, that came with these pans, it said NOT to use spray as it compromised the integrity of the non-stick surface. OOOPS! Lesson learned. Non-stick spray will never touch this set!!!

2 out of 5 stars Not that great   December 21, 2005

I expected more from kitchen aid. They are ok but not as non stick or as heavy as I was expecting. The pans I tossed out were about 10 years old with little non stick surface left but were almost as non stick as this new set of Kitchen aid. My old set was probably twice as thick and heavy. Love my kitchen aid mixer. I dont think I would buy another set. I would recomend going to a store and seeing this item in person before you buy and, everybody is right. It comes in the mail in the Kitchen aid box for everybody to see.

5 out of 5 stars J. Whetstone "JeffQC" (Cincinnati, Oh) - Read the description before purchasing...   December 10, 2005

J. Whetstone "JeffQC" (Cincinnati, Oh) complained about the packaging of the item. It states directly near the top of the webpage (before the free shipping info) that this item:

"Ships in Original Packaging:
This item ships separately and in the original manufacturer's packaging. There will be shipping labels attached to the outside of the package. The contents of this package cannot be concealed. See Product details for more information."

Maybe J. Whetstone "JeffQC" can provide an updated review of the actual product in the near future.

As for this set, we purchased it for family for Christmas because it is an amazing value for what you get. The pans are heavy, but no too heavy where you can't lift them if there's food in it. LOVE the silicone stay cool handles. You can't go wrong with KitchenAid products...we have great confidence that this will last a long time.

2 out of 5 stars Not for the product...   December 10, 2005

I recently ordered this set as a Christmas gift for my wife, who loves to cook. This was on her wish list and it looked like something that not only she would use, but would last also. We just received it today, very fast shipping. I am very pleased with that.

My problem is not with the set itself, since we haven't taken it out of the box, but with the packaging. The set was shipped in a box displaying what was on the inside. First, it's not a good idea to ship in anything but a plainly wrapped container. If the packaging displays what's on the inside, anyone can decide they want it and take it before you get it, no matter what is on the inside. Second, and most important to me right now, is the fact that my wife saw the box, and because a picture of the set was on the package, she now knows what she's getting for Christmas, 2 weeks early. I am VERY upset about this. I absolutely plan on filing a complaint about this.

So, as a warning, if this is going to be a gift for someone, make sure that either they won't get it from the delivery person, or make sure you have it wrapped so the person it's intended for doesn't see what's inside too soon.
