5 out of 5 stars One of my favorite cooking vessels!   December 20, 2007

I received this 4-quart casserole as a freebie when I bought a few other pieces and I have to say, it's one of my most-used and most-loved cooking vessels.

It fits that in-between size that's bigger than your standard pot but smaller than your dutch oven. I use it for making soups and stews, popping popcorn (1/2 cup of corn to about 3-4 tbsp of oil is PERFECT in this pot), making boxed pasta like Pasta Roni and that kind of thing. I like that it has the short handles that make it fit a crowded stove and the fact that it can go into the oven to finish off is great!

The non-stick surface is wonderful and super easy to clean up. And it's pretty sturdy too. It doesn't seem like it's too easy to scratch. I've had mine for over a year and have used metal utensils at times and never have had a problem. The base is plenty heavy for even searing on small roasts and stew meat. The lid fits fine and the curve of it is great because it forces the liquid back into the pot and also promotes an almost convective heat turn over.

I really do love this vessel and would highly recommend it for everyday use. It can handle it!
