Love these pans... November 30, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased a two pack of the 8 and 10" skillets from Macy's this past summer. All my pans work great. I find they are a bit like cast iron. Once they heat up (on medium), they retain their heat and cook evenly. I use medium heat, and can often get by with med-low. No warping or flaking yet. (The key is to not use any more heat than necessary - excessive high heat can ruin most skillets) I also got a griddle which is the Calphalon One Infused Anodized - their top line. I love it as well, and would purchase either again. I went mostly with the Contemporary line due to lower price. Be sure to read the packaging to see what line you are getting, as they have several lines out there. There is the 'infused anodized' and the 'hard anodized', nonstick and without the nonstick, etc. Check out their website for more information. [...]
Great buy November 25, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love the Calphalon brand, the price is a value. It cooks well and cleans up fast, there is no peeling of surface as with teflon. Would recommend
Two for one November 17, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have used the 10" omelette pan for about a year and have been very happy with it. When it was time to replace our 12" pan I knew I wanted a Calphalon nonstick. I like the Calphalon nonstick because you get good browning action as well as the benefits of nonstick, less oil, easy cleanup. I do consider coated nonstick pans to have a limited life. Every brand and price range I have purchased eventually needed replacing. I consider these pans an excellent value for my money.
Poor packaging -> scratched pans October 24, 2007 11 out of 14 found this review helpful
The smaller pan sits inside the larger pan in the packaging. With nothing seperating the two pans, they grind together in transit. The larger pan was scratched. I was very disappointed when I opened it.
Good pans, good deal, recommended October 21, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I'm no gourmet chef, but I cook daily and appreciate good equipment with which to do that. These skillets qualify. Plenty heavy, good looking, excellent quality overall. I spent a couple of hours looking all over the Internet (after casually checking out any store I visited with a cooking section for the last year, and not finding anything satisfactory) for a great combination of quality and value, and I think my time was well-spent. This Calphalon pair is exactly what I'd been hoping to find. Only complaint: the handle hanger holes are oriented in an odd direction so they didn't hang on my (Calphalon) pot rack the way my old skillets did, and I was forced to slightly change the way I hang my skillets. I can live with that :)
