Softest Towels January 13, 2008 Bought ginger bath towels and hand towels. Color has more brown in it than in online picture. These are great towels - extremely silky, soft to the touch. One towel had a small snag in it, but nothing major. After washing and drying, I couldn't wait to try them out. To say they are extremely absorbent is an understatement. I don't know how exactly they pick up so much moisture, but I can feel the towel grabbing at my wet skin picking up the water. It's very hard to describe, but I can definitely feel the material taking in the moisture. It's not unpleasant, just kind of odd feeling. One pass of the towel over an arm or a leg and it dries immediately. The only negative thing I could say (besides the color issue) is the towels are very heavy and not good to wrap wet hair. The towel moves around and with all the weight pulls at the scalp. Ouch! I'll stick to my Aquis micro-fiber towel for that job. All in all a good bargain. I will be buying more towels for my other bathrooms. Another great buy from Amazon.
Pure luxury, but one problem January 12, 2008 I have been looking for Bamboo towels for about a year. When I found them reasonably priced on Amazon I jumped at the chance to buy them. They are gourgous and the palm and white go perfectly in my nuetral decor. The one problem I have though, they don't seem to dry completely. After using them one day and hanging up, they are still damp the next day! Kind of a bummer, maybe when the warmer months come they will air dry quicker. They also seem to take forever in my dryer to dry.
Great Towels, etc......but January 7, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Ya gotta wash them half dozen times before you use them 'cause they shed worse than my dog! Once all the shedding's over, super soft and absorbent.
very heavy towels with care issues January 4, 2008 99 out of 105 found this review helpful
Based on the positive reviews, I bought a complete set of these towels and the matching Pinzon Bamboo Cotton Hand Towel, White and Pinzon Bamboo Cotton 2-Pack Washcloths, White. They have some annoying aspects that weren't mentioned by other reviewers and that weren't obvious in the product descriptions.
The care instructions require cold water wash, no bleach. In general, don't everyone's towels occasionally need hot washing and sanitizing or stain removal?
The care instructions also specify low dryer temperature. These are relatively very heavy towels, and at a low temperature, just four towels take two full cycles in the dryer (90 minutes or more) to dry.
If you're a person who likes to wrap up in a towel with just a quick tuck to hold it in place, be aware that this towel is way to heavy for that. It's weight drags it down instantly.
That said, the towels are intensely soft, even silky. It's as if they have been soaked in fabric softener but without the absorption issues that would cause. They're very absorbent. They feel fabulous against even very dry sensitive skin without even a hint of abrasive texture.
Overall, I'm not unhappy enough to return them and they do feel nice, but if I had known they were so heavy and had the care issues, I don't think I would have purchased them.
So Soft January 1, 2008 Bought the bath sheet as a Christmas gift, couldn't believe how soft it was. The lucky recipient loved it, and I just ordered 2 more for myself.
