Works great for the price June 13, 2008 Works just as well as I would expect the more expensive versions to be. That said, it's larger than my current cookie sheet; not exactly a problem with the mat, and it doesn't cause any issues baking. Make a note to wash it thoroughly before use; I only rinsed it a bit and it smoked a lot on the first batch.
Great Product June 3, 2008 Only used this once in my HALF SIZE SHEET PAN, for which this is designed to fit. Made some drop biscuits that turned out great. My only gripe is that the baked biscuits would move on me when I tried to brush butter on the tops while they were still on the mat -lol!
anniebelle, (and others): I always measure to make sure mats and racks will fit my pans before I make a purchase, that's why the dimensions are given. This size is not designed for a standard cookie sheet or bun pan.
I'll give one to my sister and mother, along with a true 1/2 size pan, which you will not find at any of your normal brick and mortar retailers.
Exopat not great June 2, 2008 I ordered this thinking it would fit into my cookie sheets. It is too big, so it stick out over the top. However, the cookies on it do brown nicely. Just wish it was 2" small all around. They say not to cut it, darn.
Excellent cookie sheet!! May 30, 2008 You can pretty much bake anything on it and it will not stick and the results are wonderful! Definitely recommend it to all bakers!
Recommended for frequent cookie bakers! May 19, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Works well! I hate washing cookie sheets (my favorite doesn't fit in the dishwasher), and I feel guilty using yards of parchment paper. These and similar baking mats are kind of pricey, so I bought two when I saw them on sale.
Benefits beyond providing a non-stick surface:
- I have two of these mats, but only one good cookie sheet. I put one batch of cookies in to bake, and prepared my next batch on the second baking mat. Previously, I'd have taken out the first batch, then let the sheet cool thoroughly so it didn't melt chilled dough of my first cookies while I rolled the rest in sugar. Having two mats sped things up.
- Kept cookie bottoms from getting as dark as they normally do.
- For cookies that bake too soft to spatula off the cookie sheet without crumpling, I was able to slip the mat w/ cookies onto the counter or cooling rack, so cookies stay in perfect form but don't get over-done sitting on a hot cookie sheet.
