Great brand! December 13, 2007 I love this brand of cookware. It is truly non-stick and the non-stick properties last. I have had other items from this line for over a year, and love them. The size, weight and price of this pan is excellent. And I believe the brand is made by a USA company!
Doesn't Stand Up to the Test of Time / Safe for Use? November 3, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After using a set of T-Fal nonstick cookware for about 8 years, we opted to try Simply Calphalon. We had no trouble with the Simply Calphalon pieces until about the 2nd year of use. In particular the 1 Qt and the 2 Qt sauce pans (our most heavily used pieces) have seriously shed their non-stick surfaces. Food isn't sticking, but when you look into the pot interior, you can see sections of the nonstick that are completely gone. Last week, I used the 2 Qt for the last time. I boiled potatoes in it. After the boiling, draining, and a cool rinse of the potatoes and the pot, I returned them to the pot, now cooler and unheated, where I made mashed potatoes. Using a nonstick-safe masher, everything was fine until I emptied the potatoes from the pot into the serving bowl. The mashed potatoes that were in direct contact with the bottom of the pot had tiny little specks of metallic nonstick on them. Out they went, along with the pot. In this current climate of worry over both the adverse effects of ingesting residue from nonstick cookware as well as increasingly frequent product safety recalls from China, we're cutting our losses on these in exchange for longevity of health. We "Simply" cannot recommend these.
Buyer beaware look close before you buy. October 24, 2007 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a good saucepan for the price , but I was dissapointed in the type of handle that was on it. I have many, many other peices of the Commercial Calphalon that has the heavy good handles on them but, this sauce pan had a cheaper handle on it that did not match my other peices. Before you purchace any of the Calphalon peices MAKE SURE!! that they all have matching handles on them if you want all of the cookware to match. Just a FYI to you if you are concidering puchacing seperate peices.
Fantastic buy! October 21, 2007 This saucepan is incredible; both in price and in quality. I recommend it highly!
You will love this October 3, 2007 This is a tiny but mighty pan and I am completely satisfied with the performance. I have been using this for a couple of months and it is perfectly non-stick and there is no scratch in the pan so far. After several uses the bottom got white residue which I cannot remove by regular dish washing so I guess it is time to use cleaner.
