 good pan, but not a substitute for a square-sided saute pan October 15, 2007

I bought this pan to replace a 12" nonstick saute pan with straight 4" sides. This pan is less useful for two reasons, and more useful for two reasons. In the less useful category, it doesn't have a long handle, so you can't shake the pan as you cook, or even move it around the stove easily. Also, the sides are not very tall, and the shape makes it easy to spill the contents as you stir. On the other hand, it is oven-safe to reasonable temperatures, and the lid is fantastic.

* It's a little deeper then a regular saute pan, so it's not just for pan-frying - you can also cook stir-frys and stews in it
* Metal handles are oven-safe - you won't have to worry about them melting in the oven
* Great see-through lid

The Cuisinart Chef's Classic Everyday Pan was my first, but certainly not my last, piece of non-stick cookware and I could not be more pleased with its performance and durability. I've used it 3-4 times a week for the past 7 months and it looks, and cooks, like new. What was I waiting for all these years? I recommend this pan without reservation.

Great every day pan. I found that I must use pam with it or else food sticks. I cook on medium heat (4) for almost everything and food cooks quickly. The only downside is that the handles heat up slightly with extended use.
