 The size all silverware should be January 7, 2008

The soup spoons are bigger than normal, but I see them as guy-sized for eating cereal and ice cream. I measured the teaspoons and they're slightly smaller than the soup spoons in my old set. That makes them more useable in my mind. (Teaspoons are usually pretty useless except for stirring tea or feeding young children) The forks are all large but not too large.
I don't think the metal is too thin. They look nice. If you're ready for something different, order these.

I have been looking for flatware for over a year and this set/price can not be beat anywhere. It is well made and heavy duty plus you get lots of extras. I have compared this set to many in local stores wanting two or three times the amount for less product. I saw the other reviewers comments about not being thick and the sizes, but they didn't pay a large sum of money either. My personally opinion is you get a lot more than you are paying for with this set and I highly recommend.

I recieved my silverware today. Still a deal at $49.99. I won't be returning the item, but it isn't as expected. It did come with a wooden silverware caddy which was nice, and a few additional flatware pieces not shown (2 big spoons, scalloped spoon, spoon with holes, a large fork, and a butter knife.) The reason I give the package 3 stars instead of five is that the picture makes the silverware look like a thick piece set that is one piece. It is one piece (helps eliminate rust) but is is thinner than I imagined I would be recieving. It is curvey, and the picture barely shows the lines that run on the end. It is a great deal for 12 piece settings, and you do get some extra stuff I wasn't expecting. But I still was dissapointed that it was thin. We are giants, so I don't mind the long length. It makes it a bit elegant. The spoons are big, but we have big mouths. :) Anyway, I figured another review would help alot. I appreciate all the reviews I read! Overall it is a good buy, and I still like it, and will be keeping it.

I have owned my Oneida Bancroft/Fortune service for 8 for 13 years and love it. The pattern was discontinued and I needed more flatware for the holidays. The Prescott pattern was a deal of the day for $40 it was a great buy. Unfortunately Oneida changed the sizes of their flatware. The teaspoons and salad forks from Prescott are the size of the place spoons and dinner forks in my old set. The place spoons are the size of serving spoons. I'm considering returning this item if I find something better suited in a local store.
