I had purchased this flatware from a major department store at a "day after xmas" sale. The price at the department store was $175 off of their regular price, which was good, but Amazon was $100 lower than that! I returned the flatware to the department store the next day and purchased them from Amazon. The quality is what had attracted me to them at the department store. They feel like a real piece of flatware. They are feel solid, balanced, and beautifully weighted. They also clean up nicely in the dishwasher. I would highly recommend them.

This flatware has a very elegant design. The satin finish on the inside handles provides a classy look. The pieces are "over-sized" but feel comfortable in your hand. The luster of the mirror-like finish withstands dishwasher cleaning. The caddy stores all pieces and fits nicely in a kitchen drawer for daily use. Every guest who has eaten at our home, has made a positive comment! (How often do people notice your silverware?) You will not be disappointed!

I wanted an Onieda stainless steel flatware set, but was very hesitant to buy one without actually holding and seeing the pieces. I'd found that even Onieda's quality had slipped over the past few years and any set affordable to me would probably not stand up to family use. After reading the reviews for this set, I took a chance and ordered it at 1/2 price on Amazon. I'm happily surprised that this set is of very good quality. The peices are heavy without being cumbersome and attractive. An added bonus, to me, is that the forks and spoons have a slight dip in the handles that fits the thumb and makes that pieces more comfortable to use. I've just been using this set a short time, so I can't say that it has lasted forever, but so far it seems that it will.

I am not a decisive shopper and feel compelled to do extensive "comparison" shopping. I am always thinking that there might be something better just around the corner (this can drive my family mad!). Therefore, in my quest for new flatware, I purchased three - yes, three! - sets of 18/10 stainless flatware on-line: Oneida Satin Camber from [...] and Wallace Rockport (102-piece set) from [...]. I was immediately disappointed with the Wallace flatware. Though it is 18/10 stainless steel and had matching serving pieces and extra teaspoons, etc., it seemed flimsy - I swear I could have bent the spoons in half myself! I also felt that the design was "blah." The Oneida Satin Camber set had a very pretty design and the pieces felt substantial in my hand. But talk about oversized - the fork and soup spoons were "ginormous!" And I was disappointed that I could not find any matching serving pieces for the Oneida Satin Camber. But then...the Oneida Satin Garnet flatware arrived - at lightning speed, I might add! - from Amazon.com. I love this set! The pieces are indeed substantial as other reviewers have pointed out, but our family is used to heavy flatware so they felt "just right" to us. The design is beautiful and the size of the pieces is perfect - not too big, not too small! I washed them in the dishwasher before putting them away in the accompanying wooden caddy - and they came out of the dishwasher looking shiny and spotless. This is a service for 12 with five matching pieces. Additional pieces are available at various places on-line, including [...]. All in all, I am very pleased with the beauty and durability of this flatware. And Amazon got them to me practially overnight! I am glad that I did some comparison shopping (even though it was a hassle returning the other two flatware sets, it was still worth the satisfaction of getting the set I really like!).
