Cheaper design. July 12, 2007 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I recently bought this to replace my previous, 15-year old Rubbermaid dish drainer, which I loved, but which had gotten rusted. This one is not the same design as the previous one. On the original, there was a strip of wire that ran horizontally around the basket, about one inch from the bottom. This strip kept glasses above the edge of the counter. The new design is flimsier and less sanitary, with the edge of the glasses resting on the counter. You also need to be more careful putting the glasses on the prongs on the side, as they could drop against the edge of the counter and crack.
$8.79 holds about a dozen plates May 24, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am using this instead of plate racks to keep dishes separate.
For those who don't think dish drainers should grab your attention... May 12, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Well, this is your typical square Rubbermaid dish drainer, but I love the black color, and it's nice to know it's anti-microbial. Stainless steel seems so popular now, but in my small kitchen it would tend to become the focal point.
$9.89 and it lasts forever March 20, 2007 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have had rubbermaid dish drainers that have lasted more than 10 years. The design is much better for keeping dishes separate than newer hipper designs. I use this to store my Staub grill pan, extra ice cream machine bowl, stand mixer pouring shield, extra food processor lid and pasta sheet attachment. The cup is just large enough to hold my mixer's whisk attachment.
What a shame! January 9, 2007 3 out of 16 found this review helpful
This is either a knock-off or Rubbermaid is yet another company whose products have gone into the third-world pooper.
